CO-PRODUCING
Thomas Koppel has co-worked with other outstanding producers like George
Duke (on Black Angel¹).
FULL RANGE PRODUCING
Thomas Koppel's skills embrace the whole range of the craft - from writing
big symphonic scores to an extremely effective use of synthesizers which
made him Keyboardist Of The Year 1996. He has an extraordinary relationship
with musicians in Los Angeles as well as Scandinavia, and has worked with
legends like late Ben Webster (known from recordings with Billie Holiday,
Duke Ellington), Ricky Lawson (Michael Jackson), Kevin Ricard (Stevie
Wonder), Ray Fuller (Quincy Jones), The Stars Of Faith, Niels Henning
Ørsted Pedersen, Sinikka Langeland, and many others.
His own natural instruments are keyboards, from piano (as a teen-ager
he was a classical piano soloist), to organ and even accordion which he
treats with rare sensitivity and spirit. With the keyboard as the media,
he creates outstanding, hand-played bass and drum tracks.
VOCAL PRODUCING
Thomas Koppel is an extraordinary specialist at vocal production and
recording. Besides the influence from his wife, legendary singer Annisette,
and two highly talented, singing dughters, his skills may origin from
his teenage years, when he was a trainer for the opera singers at The
Royal Opera in Copenhagen.
His own high-level output does not leave much room for producing other
artists. However, he has assisted several younger artists like Danish
CATBIRD, now nominated for 2 Danish Music Awards: female singer and producer.
Thomas is willing to, as much as his other activities allow it, work with
truly dedicated and talented artists.
